Window Films Work

Window films not only look good, they also increase your privacy, safety and the value of your vehicle.

Appearance
Put simply, a vehicle equipped with professionally applied window film looks better. It adds a touch of style and class and can even increase the resale value.

Security
Of course, we know that looks aren't everything. Our window films enhance security by acting as a barrier to stones and other missiles by increasing the resistance of the glass to impacts. By limiting visibility into the vehicle it also reduces the risk of break-ins as people can’t easily see if you have left desirable items inside.

Safety and Protection
If your car is involved in an accident, you reduce the risk from flying glass pieces because the window film helps hold them at bay, protecting the occupants inside the vehicle. The clear film also defends against harmful UV rays, reducing their effect by up to 95%.
Glare is also reduced from the sunlight and reflective surfaces, minimising eye-strain and the annoying effects of oncoming headlamps.

Heat Reduction
As your film will reflect a large percentage of the sun’s heat, the vehicle will be much cooler in the summer months, reducing the need for air-conditioning and allowing yourself and your family to enjoy a more comfortable journey.
Solar energy is also a principle factor in causing the interior surfaces of your car to fade. Tinting helps reduce this fading and damage to your carpets and upholstery, maintaining your vehicle’s internal condition (and its resale price) for longer.

The Penalties for Getting It Wrong
Adding a tinted film is great for any vehicle, but because the film can affect the vision of the driver there are strict guidelines that govern its use.

Doing it badly, and getting it wrong, can result in:

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice or court summons and a fine of up to 4,000 if a vehicle does not comply with the law.

The facts you need to know:

If you’ve got tinted vehicle windows, the front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows must let 70% of light through. It is also illegal to sell any vehicle that does not meet these requirements.

There are no rules for tinting the rear windscreen or rear passenger windows.

Police or VOSA vehicle examiners use light measuring equipment to measure window tint.

This is why it pays to have the job done properly. We will help you choose the right tints, and advise you on what's best and legal.
